Under the weather

Michelle Poon

After double-majoring in Visual Communications and Industrial Design in Canada, the opportunity to combine different scales and processes into a more holistic approach evolved to completing professional degrees in Architecture.

Balancing the practice of architecture and as part of Hong Kong’s only hackerspace, this multi-disciplinary approach towards corporate and subversive works occupies the interstitial space between physical and virtual; art and architecture; technical and abstract.

Her work is to discover and elaborate point-of-tension in perceptual mechanisms and immersive environments. Her artistic investigation examines how patterns of consciousness, perception and identity emerge in such settings and move beyond existing intellectual and social frameworks; the controversy in such moments is a yearning to turn the page and see what lies in the beauty of tomorrow.
